Community members are urged to be cautious of fake online gambling websites that look legitimate and promise big wins — but are actually scams.
These fake sites may let you play, but often won’t pay out any winnings or let you withdraw the money you’ve deposited.
The operators of these websites are unlicensed and unregulated, meaning you don’t receive the same protections as you would from a licensed service. Many of these scams advertise on social media or through messaging app groups, using fake “sign-up bonuses” or rewards for referring friends.
Please note that online pokie machines, casino-style games, and scratchies are not permitted under Australian law.
