Tiwi Islands Regional Council is reminding all customers collecting freight from the Wurrumiyanga Freight Shed today of the following collection times and requirements.

Tiwi Islands Regional Council has introduced new operating procedures for the Wurrumiyanga Freight Shed, effective immediately. These changes have been implemented to improve workplace safety, protect the security of freight, maintain a clear chain of custody, and ensure Council continues to meet its contractual obligations for handling freight and Australia Post consignments. The updated procedures apply to all freight customers and commercial operators collecting freight from the Freight Shed. Please read the attached notice for full details of the new operating arrangements.

The Milikapiti Local Authority Meeting and Ordinary Council Meeting scheduled for 21 and 22 July 2026 have been postponed due to the inability to achieve a quorum.

Please be advised that the Inter-Island Ferry will be out of service all day on Thursday, 9 July 2026.
