The Northern Territory Electoral Commission has declared the result of the Tiwi Islands Regional Council Milikapiti Ward by-election.

One nomination was received by the close of nominations at 12 noon on Wednesday 19 August 2026. As the number of nominations did not exceed the number of vacancies, Norman James Tipiloura was declared elected.

As the vacancy has now been filled, no voting will be required.

Tiwi Islands Regional Council congratulates Norman on his election and looks forward to welcoming him to Council.
