Tiwi Islands Regional Council reminds the community that dumping waste or return freight outside the Freight Shed gates is illegal.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- pallets
- milk crates and cartons
- packaging materials
- general rubbish
- return freight
- other unwanted items
These items must not be left outside the Freight Shed gates at any time.
The area is monitored by 24-hour security cameras. Incidents of illegal dumping will be investigated and, where sufficient evidence is available, details will be provided to the Northern Territory Environment Protection Authority for investigation and potential prosecution.
Please dispose of waste responsibly and help keep the community clean and safe for everyone.
