About Us

The islands are home to the Tiwi people, who have a strong affiliation with their land and waterways, along with a distinctive culture and language. There are school and medical facilities on the islands, with regular plane, passenger ferry and barge services operating to Darwin.

Role

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure, you will coordinate the Council’s aerodrome response teams at Milikapiti, Pirlangimpi and Wurrumiyanga to ensure Aerodrome Reporting Officers (ARO) meet legislative requirements and standards.

You will also coordinate the Council’s residential housing lease program and related maintenance activities.

There will also be a specific focus on instilling a team culture based on customer-focus and a genuine commitment to excellence.

You will have experience in project management, strong planning skills, and a collaborative approach to working with other stakeholders.

You should be committed to delivering high-quality services and ensuring compliance with legislation to maximise value for the community.

Perks

You will receive 6-weeks’ annual leave per year, along with a salary between $82,000 and $92,000 (plus superannuation), relocation assistance and accommodation.

As inferred above, this position requires a full-time presence on Bathurst Island within the Tiwi Islands community.
