Tiwi Islands Regional Council is recruiting for a Coordinator Governance and Compliance to join our team.

The Coordinator Governance and Compliance is responsible for all aspects of governance, risk and compliance. You will ensure legislative and regulatory compliance, implement a governance framework (including policies) and have responsibility for record management.

    The position is responsible for the establishment and ongoing maintenance and leadership of good governance structures and processesIn addition, the role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Council agenda and meeting process including ownership of the agenda and minute taking software. You will work closely with the CEO, CFO, Department Managers and Program Managers to understand and reflect the needs of the organisation.

    The successful candidate will have;

    • Knowledge or training equivalent to a relevant degree and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and or education/training. 
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic frameworks and evidence-based, written recommendations relevant to business requirements. 
    • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, coordinate multiple activities simultaneously and prioritise workload. 
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including advanced writing skills to capture, analyse and present complex information. 

    This is a Permanent, Full-Time position which can be based in Darwin or one of our three Communities in the Tiwi Islands.  The successful candidate will be required to travel regularly to community.


    Salary will be $89,000 - $94,000 per annum based on 38 hours per week (negotiated based on qualifications and experience)
